If you haven’t noticed, the summer season is fast approaching. The countdown to the last day of school has begun. Why do I bring this little bit of news to our attention? If we are not intentional, summer will pass us by without us making a concerted effort to invest in our marriages, families, and friendships. So, I want to challenge us to create a bucket list for this summer – a fun, no-stress way to make the most of the next three months connecting with those you love. You can do this as a couple, a family, or with a friend group.
Step 1: Brainstorm
Take the time as an individual to create a list of activities, events, games, fun things you would like to do. It can be anything at all. It doesn’t have to cost a lot of money either; there are many fun ideas you can come up with without breaking the bank.
Some simple Ideas:
Step 2: Share your list
Sit down as a couple, family, or friend group and share your lists. Then work together to create a master list that you can agree upon.
Step 3: Put your plan into action
If I don’t put something on my calendar, it’s probably not going to get done. That includes spending quality time with those I love. So, after you make your master list, start scheduling your activities on your calendar and let the fun begin.
Step 4: Document your memories
Don’t forget to take some good photos of all your time together. These photos will be lasting memories to share for the rest of your life.
Life is short, so make the most of every moment. If you have a great list you would like to share or an event I should try, then send it my way via email.
In the Grip of His Grace,
